For Example, to open google on a web browser, we need to type http://www. in the beginning and .com at the end. Many times we get confused between forward slash and back-slash!

The trick is simple :
Type "google" in address bar

Then, press "ctrl" + "Enter" keys together :

It'll prefix http://www. and suffix .com to the word you've written.

And guess what, this works on all browsers.RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-28524705832249142002012-07-26T22:03:00.000-07:002012-07-26T22:03:04.124-07:00Copy Full Path of a File (Trick)
Let's say , you need to copy the full location of a file to use somewhere else.
Traditionally, you will open the file in Windows Explorer and then copy the path in the address bar and manually append file name to the end.

Say you have a file(abc.txt) at E:\All\Training Material. When you copy path, you will first append file name at the end and then add double quotes("") since we have a space in folder name.

To save time, you can use a trick in Windows Explorer.

Trick: Just hold "SHIFT" key when you right-click a file and select option "Copy As Path".

CopyAsPath

You will get the string as : "E:\All\Training Material\abc.txt".
And you are ready to go using this.

Tested on: Windows 7.RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-58265748005960760852012-03-15T23:16:00.000-07:002012-03-15T23:16:38.944-07:00Open Command Prompt(cmd) directly from a folderInstead of opening command prompt and then moving into the required folder using "cd" command , you can use a simple trick available in Windows to do the same thing.
This requires no third-party software to be installed on your system.

Steps:

Move to the folder in which you want to use command prompt

Hold "SHIFT" key and right-click in an empty area

Select "Open command window here"

This will open command prompt with path changed to your current directory rather than "C:\Users\Your User Name".

Screen-shots:
Here's the Trick....

<div style="color: #bf9000; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">First the bottom line/concept
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="color: black; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The Add/Remove Programs list is populated from the following registry key:
<div style="color: #93c47d; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So ,we can modify the entries here !

<div style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The Hack begins...
<div style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

Just follow these steps(u must be admin):

Press start button + R. and goto "Run".

type regedit.

Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall.

Here find the program you want to hide.(eg. Mozilla Firefox)

In the right-pane, right-click the DisplayName value and choose Rename

Rename it to anything (For example, NoDisplayName )

That's all. we are done.

Now, windows does not know DisplayName for that program and will not load it in control panel.

Do refer to this site for more details...very well covered.
RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-33029836131011262962012-01-31T05:23:00.000-08:002012-01-31T05:23:57.933-08:00Open a Link in new tab/window without right-click
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" DefUnhideWhenUsed="true"

(Tamil's Blog in myopera.com)

Opera is a very secure browser and normally u wont be able to see Saved Passwords unlike Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.(switch to opera immediately).
Here's a way to recover the password u saved since there are chances that u may forget them using Opera Wand(Ctrl+Enter) again and again.
Here's how : First of all try this, this will not work if

URL of login page changes.

User name and/or password form field name changes.

In such times you should use third party tool to recover the forgotten passwords.

<span style="font-family: "Georgia", "Times New Roman", serif;">Method (Using JavaScript)

Go to http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html page, right click on View Passwords button, select Bookmark Link... and add.

Open login page of site you want to view password and make sure login form fields are highlighted by wand in yellow color. Press keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Enter (or click wand button) and then Esc key quickly.

Open View Passwords bookmarklet from bookmarks to view password.

User name & password form fields highlighted by wand

Password shown by "View Passwords" bookmarklet

Now, if this thing does not help ur cause, use third party tool to recover ur password.

Another Way (Opera Pass View)

OperaPassView is a small password recovery tool that decrypts the content of the Opera Web browser password file, wand.dat and displays the list of all Web site passwords stored in this file. You can easily select one or more passwords in the OperaPassView window, and then copy the passwords list to the clipboard or save it into text/html/csv/xml file.

If wand is protected by master password OperaPassView won't show passwords. Disable Tools > Advanced > Security > Use master password to protect saved passwords to view passwords.

Hope it helps u out. Be Ethical and don't misuse it.RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-71181232872614705302011-08-09T11:12:00.000-07:002011-08-09T11:12:50.111-07:00Increase Broadband/internet speed Surfing&DownloadingThese are tried on Windows XP.
I did it in my head..."

Damn kid.
Probably copied it.
They're all alike.

I made a discovery today.
I found a computer.
Wait a second, this is cool.
It does what I want it to.
If it makes a mistake,
it's because I screwed it up.
Not because it doesn't like me...
Or feels threatened by me...
Or thinks I'm a smart ass...
Or doesn't like teaching
and shouldn't be here...

Damn kid.
All he does is play games.
They're all alike.

And then it happened...
a door opened to a world...
rushing through the
phone line like heroin
through an addict's veins,
an electronic pulse is sent out,
a refuge from the day-to-day
incompetencies is sought...
a board is found.

"This is it... this is where I belong..."

I know everyone here...
even if I've never met them,
never talked to them,
may never hear from them again...
I know you all...

Damn kid.
Tying up the phone line again.
They're all alike...

You bet your ass we're all alike...
we've been spoon-fed baby food at school
when we hungered for steak...
the bits of meat that you
did let slip through
were pre-chewed and tasteless.
We've been dominated by sadists,
or ignored by the apathetic.
The few that had something to teach
found us willing pupils,
but those few are like
drops of water in the desert.

This is our world now...
the world of the electron and the switch,
the beauty of the baud.

We make use of a service
already existing without paying
for what could be dirt-cheap
if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons,
and you call us criminals.

We explore...
and you call us criminals.

We seek after knowledge...
and you call us criminals.

We exist without skin color,
without nationality,
without religious bias...
and you call us criminals.

You build atomic bombs,
you wage wars,
you murder, cheat,
and lie to us
and try to make us believe
it's for our own good,
yet we're the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal.
My crime is that of curiosity.
My crime is that of
judging people by what
they say and think,
not what they look like.
My crime is that of outsmarting you,
something that you
will never forgive me for.

I am a hacker,
and this is my manifesto.
You may stop this individual,
but you can't stop us all...
after all, we're all alike.
How do you copy-paste !
easy to answer ....

What do you do? You select the required files and do a CTRL –C. Open the destination folder and do a CTRL-V.

Since Hacking is all about presenting a better way for your routine tasks, here's another QUICK Method once you are done setting.
Here is something you can benefit time from. Customize your SEND TO MENU.
you can do it in less than sixty seconds.
You can create your own BASKET and then just throw things in it.

How To do it?

First you’ll need access to hidden files. So change your view settings to make all hidden files visible.
Tools -> folder options -> view (tab) and select the show hidden files and folders.

Go to parent drive:/documents and settings/(user name)/send to(Usually C:\Documents and settings \username \Send To)

Open up my computer and locate your most used folders.Create a shortcut of the most used folders in SEND TO FOLDER.You can do this in a number of ways.

Right click -> send to desktop(create shortcut) and move the shortcut from the desktop to the SEND TO FOLDER

Copy the most used folder and go to SEND TO Folder and right click -> paste shortcut.

Also remember to rename the shortcuts to send to files. DONE. Enjoy! Show-off! lolz (don't follow the last word!)

U don't attack the site, u attack the person(Like Inception Movie!). Basically u fool the victim to give u his personal details using fake websites, emails etc. I have tried on many people and found that it does work because most people do not pay enough attention or do not have enough exposure.

To make sure u are not a victim, read below.

What it is?

Phishing is an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by appearing as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

eBay, PayPal,gmail, facebook, yahoomail, orkut and other online banks are common targets.

How it is carried out ?

Phishing is typically carried out by email or instant messaging and often directs users to enter details at a website, although phone contact has also been used.

Spoofed/Fraudulent e-mails are the most widely used tools to carry out the phishing attack. In most cases we get a fake e-mail that appears to have come from a Trusted Website . Here the hacker may request us to verify user name & password by replaying to a given email address.

TECHNIQUES BEHIND PHISHING ATTACK

1. Link Manipulation

Most methods of phishing use some form of technical deception designed to make a link in an email appear to belong to some trusted organization or spoofed organization. Misspelled URLs or the use of subdomains are common tricks used by phishers,

such as this example URL

www.micosoft.com

www.mircosoft.com

www.verify-microsoft.com

instead of www.microsoft.com

2. Filter Evasion

Phishers have used images instead of text to make it harder for anti-phishing filters to detect text commonly used in phishing emails. This is the reason Gmail or Yahoo will disable the images by default for incoming mails.

How to identify a fraudulent e-mail?

Here are a few phrases to look for if you think an e-mail message is a phishing scam.

“Verify your account.”

Legitimate sites will never ask you to send passwords, login names, Social Security numbers, or any other personal information through e-mail.

“If you don’t respond within 48 hours, your account will be closed.”

These messages convey a sense of urgency so that you’ll respond immediately without thinking.

“Dear Valued Customer.”

Phishing e-mail messages are usually sent out in bulk and often do not contain your first or last name.

“Click the link below to gain access to your account.”

HTML-formatted messages can contain links or forms that you can fill out just as you’d fill out a form on a Web site. The links that you are urged to click may contain all or part of a real company’s name and are usually “masked,” meaning that the link you see does not take you to that address but somewhere different, usually a scam Web site.

How does a phishing attack/scam look like?

As scam artists become more sophisticated, so do their phishing e-mail messages and pop-up windows. They often include official-looking logos from real organizations and other identifying information taken directly from legitimate Web sites. Here is an example of how the phishing scam email looks like.

Example of a phishing e-mail message, including a deceptive URL address linking to a scam Web site.

To make these phishing e-mail messages look even more legitimate, the scam artists may place a link in them that appears to go to the legitimate Web site (1), but it actually takes you to a phishing site (2) or possibly a pop-up window that looks exactly like the official site.

These copycat sites are also called “spoofed” Web sites. Once you’re at one of these spoofed sites, you may send personal information to the hackers.

So the Bottom line to defend from phishing attack is

1. Never assume that an email is valid based on the sender’s email address.

2. A trusted bank/organization such as paypal will never ask you for your full name and password in a PayPal email.

3. An email from trusted organization will never contain attachments or software.

4. Clicking on a link in an email is the most insecure way to get to your account.

RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-77909642341085883602011-04-30T11:17:00.000-07:002011-04-30T11:25:51.619-07:00Use Command Prompt as Calculator
No, i'm not saying about typing "calc".

Just wanna tell u that thr's a CUI calculator available in command prompt. If you are one such Internet user whose email account has been compromised, then this post will surely help you out. In this post you will find the possible ways and procedures to get back your hacked email account.

Gmail:

It can be a big disaster if your Gmail account has been compromised as it may be associated with several services like Blogger, Analytics, Adwords, Adsense, Orkut etc. Losing access to your Gmail account means losing access to all the services associated it with too. Here is a list of possible recovery actions that you can try.

Step -1: Try resetting your password since it is the easiest way to get your account back in action. In this process Google may ask you to answer the secret question or may send the password reset details to the secondary email address associated with your compromised account. You can reset you password from Gmail Password Reset Link.

If you cannot find success from the Step-1 then proceed to Step-2.

Step-2: Many times the hacker will change the secret question and secondary email address right after the account is compromised. This is the reason for the Password Reset process to fail. If this is the case then you need to contact the Gmail support team by filling out the account recovery form. This form will ask you to fill out several questions like

1. Email addresses of up to five frequently emailed contacts
2. Names of any 4 Labels that you may have created in your account
3. List of other services associated with your compromised account
4. Your last successful login date
5. Account created date
6. Last password that you remember and many more…

You need to fill out this form as much accurately as possible. It is obvious to forget the dates of last login, account creation and similar terms. However you need to figure out the closest possible date/answers and fill out this form. This is your last chance! The more accurate the information filled out in the recovery form, the more the chances of getting your account back. RD18http://www.blogger.com/profile/17000874122823455882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7454868292000060576.post-49480563369413758142010-05-31T13:44:00.000-07:002011-06-29T03:46:29.863-07:00Must ReadThis article is not written by me but I like it and post it here.

Article source: MoralStories.net article 120

Title: Have you been to the bank

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with 86,400.
